Creepy Nashville all-girl garage band The Black Belles prime for the release of their self-titled, Jack White-endorsed, debut.

The White Stripes mainman, now producer and Third Man label manager, discovered the witchy quartet and recorded their first two 7-inches.

The first, 'What Can I Do', became the theme to Elvira's Movie Macabre TV show and the second, 'Charlene 11', saw them as the backing band for master satirist Stephen Colbert.

Single number one from their self-titled debut is 'Honky Tonk Horror', featuring the ghoulish gals in their full, grave-robbing, garage glory.

Check out a preview below. The album will be out on December 2.

Mazzy Star : The Los Angeles duo's first single in 15 years is pure country-rock haze

Mazzy Star

"Common Burn"

Rolling Stone: star rating
Community: star rating

The Los Angeles duo's first single in 15 years is pure country-rock haze: nodding harmonica, shivering electric guitar and Hope Sandoval's voice – angel, lover, hallucination of your mom speaking to you in utero. It's like they never left.

Well, things are starting to heat up down on E Street.
A lot of you have been hearing that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012. That is absolutely correct. The European dates run from the middle of May until end of July and are being announced this week. Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will coming up shortly.

In addition, we want you to know that the music is almost done (but still untitled), we have almost settled on the release date (but not quite yet), and that we are all incredibly excited about everything that we're planning for 2012. That's all the info we have for right now, but we'll get back to you--real soon.
So far, only four dates have been announced. He probably wouldn't have announced any tour plans this early, but the European festivals were announcing their line-ups this week. Expect many more dates to come soon. Also, don't be surprised if he does a run of American arenas before going to Europe in May.
June 21st: Stadium of Light, Sunderland, England
June 22nd: Etihad Stadium, Manchester, England
June 24th: Isle of Wight Festival, Isle of Wight, England
July 14th: Hard Rock Calling, London, England

Ataxia and Frusciante style

Ataxia was a short-lived American experimental rock band formed in 2004 by guitarist John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili PeppersThe Mars Volta), bassistJoe Lally (Fugazi) and drummer Josh Klinghoffer (Red Hot Chili PeppersDot HackerThe Bicycle Thief).
Ataxia wrote and recorded songs for two weeks, and the material was separated into two albums: Automatic Writing (2004) and AW II (2007). The songs all feature a ground-bass line with the guitar overlaying different motifs and long developments. In March 2008, Lally described the band's writing process:[1]
The songs would be initiated by me settling into a bass line. While the bass line was forming Josh would be playing and John would start to do something - with a few minutes, with a beat, I’d just keep going. There were no thoughts to it being the 'end product', a recording, but it led to that. The goal was just to see how quickly we could work music into place - I think it was a really interesting exercise for [Frusciante and Klinghoffer]. [...] The project really was just to be a show, not a recording, and no one would ever hear it again.
Ataxia performed two shows, both at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, on February 2 and February 3, 2004. Following this, the group disbanded. Josh Klinghoffer continues to work with Frusciante on his solo projects. Josh took John's place as the Red Hot Chili Peppers guitar player when John quit during the RHCP hiatus.

John Anthony Frusciante Listeni/frˈʃɑːnt/ (Italian pronunciation: [fruʃˈʃante]; born March 5, 1970) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, record and film producer. He is best known as the former lead guitarist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom he recorded five studio albums. Frusciante has an active solo career, having released ten albums under his own name, as well as two with Josh Klinghoffer and Joe Lally as Ataxia. His solo recordings include elements ranging from experimental rock and ambient music to New Wave and electronica. Influenced by guitarists of various genres, Frusciante emphasizes melody and emotion in his guitar playing, and favors vintage guitars and analog recording techniques.

Snake Rattle Rattle Snake - 'Like a Moth'

Denver’s Snake Rattle Rattle Snake create music steeped in darkness, perpetually dodging the sunny sheen of pop tendencies in favor of the shadows. Singer Hayley Helmericks, guitarist Doug Spencer, guitarist/keyboardist Wilson Helmericks, bassist James Yardley and drummer Andrew Warner walk suredly down that partly cloudy street and the result is the band’s first full length album "Sineater". Their video for the song "Like A Moth" is comprised of footage from the 60s experimental films "Hold Me While I'm Naked" (George Kuchar 1966) and "Peyote Queen" (Storm DeHirsch 1965). Editing for the video was masterfully handled by Audio Visual Violence.
